Heidelburg Airshow 14 May 2011

Saturday 14th May 2011 was a fun day out where I got to test out photographing an Airshow. The organizers arranged a special for the photographic clubs and gave us an exclusive spot along the runway. On arrival each of the 180 registered photographers were issued with a Bright Orange Hi-Vis vest in order to comply with safety regulations. At 9h00 we had a safety meeting and then the fun began. As I have never before shot an Airshow I was really having to think out of the box and go beyond my comfort zones. Luckily the organizer gave us a few tips about catching moving propellers and shutter speeds for that. The pictures that follow are my first attempt at Airshow photography.

Old Houses, Mine Dumps and Steam Trains - Trash the Dress 15 May 2011

On the 15th of May a bunch of photographers I'm connected with on Facebook and I arranged a shoot to get portfolio pics as well as some posing practice and knowledge sharing.
Leanne Knuist in conjunction with Camera Stuff arranged everything.
The day was loads of fun and the models and brides were great to work with.
I take my hat off to Maryna for being the key factor in the TTD part of the shoot. She brought along some really cool props and was so willing and fun to work with even when it came to sitting on the coal heap.
