You might ask was the no 42 or the words don't panic and reference to the Restaurant at the end of the Universe have to do with this blog. Well the answer can be found by drinking a pan galactic gargle blaster which is is said is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a very large gild brick. For many months Michele has been planning a surprise celebration for both her hubby Harry and her nephew Alistair and of course trying not to panic about how she would pull the entire thing off without them finding out.
Alistair turned 21 in October and Harry 50 in November as both birthday fell fairly close together Mich made it a combined celebration. All they knew was to keep 10 Nov free as she was taking them out for dinner and they duly obliged despite having a few suspicions and trying very hard to get anyone in the know to confess to the greater schemes and plots.
Unbeknown to Harry and Alistair, Mich had arranged an even bigger surprise for them on the evening of the party. Needless to say both were completely gobsmaked when the big surprise was revealed. The Big surprise was that she has arranged for Harry's sister and twin nephews, Alistiars' mom and his twin brothers to come to the party. Careen, Brian and Craig flew in from Sydney at about 3pm the afternoon of the party and where quickly whisked off to the venue for the big reveal and family reunion.
I hope that the images that follow will give you a small taste of the joint celebrations and great reunion.
Thanks Mich for asking me to be there to photograph this very special event for your family.

Kurt Darren and Snotkop @ Reefsteamers
Today was such a fun day I had to blog it to share with everyone. Kurt Darren and Snotkop were shooting a music video at the Reefsteamers depot and as all video shoot go there were many retakes and much hurry and wait while scenes were set and makeup re touched or locomotives moved to where they had to be for the shoot. Not even the threat of a afternoon thunderstorm deterred everyone from enjoying the day.
The images that follow are a few of the ones I managed to capture including a few showing the behind the scenes action.
More images can bee seen on the Reefsteamers facebook page.

Gautrain - From Dreams to Reality
Well tonight I feel like I really got lucky. Yip I responded to one of the Facebook posts from Gautrain to send in my name and win one of 10 spots to the launch of the Gautrain History Book and their Book Club. Lucky me I secured a spot and so began a night that will go down in my history as being a very special night thanks to the awesomeness that is Gautrain.
The instructions received from Gautrain were to meet at Rosebank station at 17h30 where we would be given our gold cards to proceed to Midrand and onto Gallager Estate for the event. At 18h06 we boarded an 8 car train bound for Midrand and needless to say I was like a kid in a toy-store riding the awesomeness of Gautrain.
On arrival at Gallager Estate we were given bookmarks (a hint of what was to come) and a welcome drink of sparkling wine and then the formal proceedings began. Highlights of the evening a reading by Don Matera and of course receiving a copy of the Gautrain History Book.
Thank you Gautrain for an incredible evening. May your book club reach each and every South African and draw them to love reading books.
