Pine Forests and Neighbourhood Markets

Over the weekend of 1-3 March 2013, I was lucky yet again to chill out in Limpopo amongst the pine forests high in the mountains. My visit to the mountains was not just pleasure as it included some family time as well. I got to see my mom who lives up in Haenertsburg and we thoroughly enjoyed that we could spend time together enjoying the misty mountain. yes it was a Misty mountain this weekend as it rained pretty much most of the weekend bar a little sun that shone on Sunday. I really love the mountain when it's all misty and rainy as it's makes for great times round the fireplace and great photo's when driving through the forests.
Saturday was a quite day and I used the chance to take some much wanted images around the Village of Haenertsburg.

Sunday was the highlight as Mom and I went to Mina's @Zwakala neighbourhood Market. Mina's in a new concept on the mountain which has been fully embraced by the locals community with many locals having stalls offering their delicious wares and others providing delicious homemade substance to the market visitors who traveled from far and wide to be there (UK, Polokwane, Tzaneen, Joburg to name a few places).

I will definitely be revisiting Mina's even if just to chill with some home-brew under the tree's on tree stump chair. Perhaps I'll be lucky enough to get to shoot a wedding at Mina's @Zwakala.

The images that follow are a small representation of my weekend on the mountain.

This is the little piece of home from home that I escape to on weekends in the Mountain :)

Mom and her green fingers grew this Anemone

The best part of being on the mountain is being able to enjoy
the beauty of the pine forests and the lovely roads through the forests.

When in Haenertsburg you have to taste the fare from
Home Based. Elsie makes the most wonderful pickles and preserves.

Another must do on the mountain is visit Wegraakbosch dairy for their
Swiss Style cheeses made with loving care by Nipper and Sylvia
from milk produced by their swiss brown cows.

and little home made Chourizio sausage made by Nipper.
