Can a man pull a train? Yes he can and he did!

On the 27th of July 2013 Reefsteamers held their annual open day at their depot in Germiston.

As part of the day's entertainment they challenged a Strongman to see if he could pull one of their locomotives and of course he liked the challenge.

The locomotive to be pulled was the 25NC no 3472 locomotive names Elize. The Strongman taking the challenge Ettienne Smit 8 time SA champ. The locomotive was ready and waiting on her spot on line 2 on the day of the event and with the crowd there to cheer him along Etteinne strapped himself into his harness and dug his heels in to pull the 25 class. Despite the locomotive best efforts she was beaten on the day by the strongman. Weight pulled 226.6 tons, distance he achieved 19meters. After he had done the pull I heard one of the crown shout "give the man a Bells" so clearly he had impressed the crowed and wowed them with his strength.

Jonathan's Glow Party

Oh wow I can believe it my Godson has reached the grand age of 14, he's well and truly a teenager, but also becoming a confidant young man in his own right. For his 14th birthday he opted to have a typical teen party at home with his friends, mostly girls I must add. He decided that having a glow party was the order of the day and so the lounge was transformed with glow sticks, glow in the dark water, lava lamps and UV lighting to make it all glow. #lumoparty
