Reefsteamers New Year Train Dec 2011

This is a little post I have to share of a Historic occasion I was involved with through an organisation called Reefsteamers with whom I volunteer. This train was part of the making of History as it was the first time in about 20 years that a passenger sleeper train had been into Port Shepstone. There is quite a bit of wind noise in the clip but it is none the less worth seeing for it's value in what Reefsteamers is doing for the Heritage Preservation of Steam Locomotives and the old SAR rolling stock. Unfortunately this train could not be pulled by a Steam locomotive but we are working on this for the future. The more that Transnet realizes the value of Tourism the more chance there is to run at least the last 100KM's of this trip under full steam which would be totally amazing and again historic.

Enjoy this virtual journey as much as I did the real one. :)

Meeting Emily Part 2

After doing my first sneak peak shoot of my first meeting with Emily, I have to admit I am smitten with this little person. Ok I have a long history and connection with her parents and as they are such special friends I guess that Emily's arrival and my being smitten go hand in hand. I'm sure that many more posts will follow of Emily's adventures. For now the posts will be of her early days and a few very special moments which I have been privileged to be able to share with her family.

The photo alongside is one of Emily's dad when he was about the same age.
It's clear that she is Daddy's girl in many way's.

I'm sooo sleepy.....

Still soooo sleepy

Now that's a good place to have nap, sweet dreams indeed.

Emily's mom has been very busy making her these lovely little bee's as part of a cot mobile.

An Octopus to go with the Bee's

And a teeny weeny little Tortoise too

and of course this sweet little sheep.

Snuggled up with my big sister Cheylin

Emily goes for her first miniature live steam engine ride on an engine built by her granddad.

Anish turns 3

Anish's 3rd Birthday party took place at Elf's Hill in Chartwell. The venue is totally awesome for kiddies parties as there is space for them to run around and loads of fun things which stimulate imaginative play.
Anish's mom arranged him a Cars themed Party which was great fun and enjoyed by all his playschool friends.
