Emily's Dedication 27 May 2012

"A child is a soul the Lord lends to the earth.
To be nurtured in faith from the moment of birth.
A child to enjoy as a gift from above,
To be Dedicated to Christ and brought up with love."
- Author unknown

The words of the unknown author above could not be more true when describing Emily, she is a blessed little soul and a gift to her family. I feel very honored to have been able to share in her special day and her dedication as her photographer. Thank you Shaun and Lauren for allowing me to share your little princess's day.

A sweet little treasure sent from above, a coo and a smile, wrapped up in love...

Behind the scenes at a Reefsteamers Photoshoot

Saturday 26th May was a very early start to catch the best light and a 15F steam locomotive before it's departure to Magaliesburg. SA Amateur Photographers had planned an outing to the Reefsteamers depot with models in tow for a fun shoot and tips gathering from the pro's who would be shooting with the group and sharing their knowledge.

Many arrived there long before the sun had even started to rise and were met by a gently simmering locomotive which had been carefully tended all night by the locominding crew. As the sun began to peek over the horizon and the sky turned wonderful pastel pinks and blues the shutters began to click. Unfortunately I missed some of the best light as I went on "mission rescue" to find the folk who were lost on the road outside the depot so I can't share those images with you. I will be sharing some behind the scenes ones and few images of the models that posed for the photographers. I must say some of these girls and guys were very brave as they were asked to sit in coal heaps and on dusty and greasy locomotives and coaches. All in all a really fun day was had by all and I’m sure the photographers that were there went away with some stunning photo’s and the models will be pleased with the portfolio shot’s they’ll be getting from the photographers.

Road trip to Limpopo

I took a road trip to Limpopo for a few days. Mainly to visit my family who live in Haenertsburg but also to have a nice mini and well deserved holiday. Of course my camera was tagged along to document parts of my mini holiday hence this post. Some images were posted on my Facebook page via instagram as I sued my iPhone to take them thus I could share them immediately. This post is reserved for some of the other sights I captured along the way and whilst up in the mountains. I had hoped to capture the aloes on Spitzkop but I was a little to early and they're not yet in bloom so no magnificent red phosporences in this post. Instead I have some very red sunsets a super moon and very sad plinthed Class 19D, 2541 in Mokpane and a last of the Autumn colours at Cheerio.
