Andrew and Ilsa's Midlands Wedding

This is an unofficial post for Andrew and Ilsa's wedding. Andrew is my cousin asked me to capture a few images of his wedding which of course I was more than willing to do. He did have an official photographer and those images I'm sure are going to be beautiful based on the sneak peek's I've seen.

Having been involved behind the scenes with helping Andrew and Ilsa source items for their wedding and trying my hand at making some as well ( I have the burns to prove this) I have to share a few special moments by blogging their wedding.

Some highlights of the wedding for me are of spending evenings together with Andrew and Ilsa discussing what they needed, bumping into them at some of our favourite party suppliers looking for wedding goodies, attempting to make Edinburgh Rock and of course a few excellent meals we shared together with our other cousin Fiona and her fiancée Ben before the wedding.
So glad we had the opportunity as the younger generation in the family to be together and sharing good times.

The wedding weekend started off with both families getting together over a braai at Lythwood Lodge. This is where we the Davidson Family got to meet the Nel Family and I must add Ilsa's dad Stephen the rugby fanatic who kept us up to data with the scores that evening and cracking jokes (all rugby of course). This while Ilsa's sisters and Mom finnished off the decor in the hall and Andrew, Ilsa and the groomsmen sorted out the chapel at Michaelhouse.

The wedding day dawned as a rainy misty Midlands day and led onto being a totally special day despite the mist and rain. The bride looks stunning in her Spanish dress, the groom very handsome in his family kilt. Together they became one in an Anglican Chapel with the service led by the dominies that taught Ilsa maths and went on the celebrate in the evening. Their first dance is by far the best I've seen and truly showed Andrew and Ilsa's funky characters and love of fun as they went through a routine that had taken then 5 hours to put together. All topped off with a cake and candy saloon which was taken over by Minions in all forms and sizes. I could not be prouder of my cousin and his new wife Ilsa and wish them a lifetime of fun, happiness and being funky together.

Loved this moment when Kayla one of the flower girls became overwhelmed with the church and all the people and my cousin took time out to comfort her in the seconds before Ilsa walked into the chapel.

Needless to say little Lana had her own melt down but luckily mommy was on hand to scoop her up

Hoe awesome is this dress, all the way from Spain.
